About Our Lab Grown Diamonds & Jewelry

Do you offer mined diamonds, or only lab grown?

We are proud to offer only ethically-sourced, affordable, lab grown diamonds on our website.

What is a lab grown diamond?

A lab grown diamond (also known as man-made, lab created, cultured, or cultivated diamond) is created in a controlled laboratory environment as opposed to an underground mine. The process is human-controlled rather than geological. Truth be told, it is an impeccable, financially savvy alternative to mined diamonds. Learn more about lab grown diamonds here.

Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?

Lab grown diamonds are authentic diamonds in every sense. All their physical, chemical, optical, and atomic properties are identical to those of mined diamonds. The only difference is that they are made above ground instead of below ground. Lab grown diamonds are absolutely real diamonds. On the other hand, diamond simulants such as moissanites and cubic zirconia are not actual diamonds but merely resemble them because they do not have the same chemical & physical properties of a mined diamond. Learn more about lab grown diamonds here.

How are lab grown diamonds created?

A diamond ‘seed’ is set in carbon-rich conditions inside a sophisticated growth chamber. Using our exclusive growth technique, the seed develops into a rough diamond. The rough diamond is then planned, laser cut, polished & finished just like a mined diamond is. This turns it into a lovely, sparkling precious stone. Learn more about lab grown diamonds here.

Are your lab grown diamonds ethically-sourced?

Yes. Because our lab grown diamonds are man-made in our controlled laboratory setting, they are 100% conflict-free and do not require mining tons of earth to find them. All local labor laws are followed, including child labor laws, and the creation of our lab grown diamonds is free from funding violence, warlords, corrupt governments, or other human rights abuses. Learn more about lab grown diamonds here.

How do you advertise carat total weight, and what are the tolerances?

We display all of our diamond carat total weights (ctw) in fractions in the product name and also show them in decimals in the product details. The fractions we use follow the Federal Trade Commission guidelines for diamonds advertised as fractions as well as diamond industry best practices. To learn more about our diamond carat total weight (ctw) tolerances, please click here.

Do you certify the lab grown diamonds?

We provide a certification card from one of the world’s most reputable independent certification companies, including IGI (International Gemological Institute) and GIA (Gemological Institute of America) for all center stones purchased through our Design Your Ring program. We also provide certification cards for all other jewelry that includes a center stone (or matched pairs) that are 3/4 carat or larger. Learn more about lab grown diamonds here.

What does HPHT and CVD mean in lab grown diamonds?

HPHT stands for High Pressure High Temperature.

CVD stands for Chemical Vapor Deposition.

Are your lab grown diamonds laser inscribed?

Can I buy a loose lab grown diamond?

How do you match the side stones to the center stones?

Our diamond experts match side stones based on the quality of the center diamond you choose. For jewelry designed by us, the product page will usually show the quality of the side diamonds.

What metal types do you offer?

Our jewelry is expertly crafted in 14K gold or platinum. Most gold items are available in white, yellow, and rose gold color choices. You can choose your metal type and color on the product page for all items.

Are all white gold rings rhodium plated?

Yes. We use rhodium plating on our white metals, like white gold. The rhodium plating enhances the luster and durability of the metal, and gives a smooth, shiny finish to the jewelry. This is a very common practice in the jewelry industry.

Is the jewelry stamped?

Yes. We have a legal obligation per the National Stamping Act to stamp silver and gold jewelry, and we follow the guidelines for stamping as set forth by the Federal Trade Commission. These markings, or stamps, are required to show the quality of the metal and the trademark. For example, if the item is made of 14 karat gold, the stamp will show 14K. For the trademark, most of our jewelry is stamped with GB for Grown Brilliance. For jewelry that includes lab grown diamonds, we also include LGD in the stamp. For rings, the stamp can be located inside the band, on either the right or left side. If you do not see the stamp with the naked eye, we recommend looking through a magnifier or jeweler’s loupe.

Can I engrave my ring?

Many of our engagement rings and wedding bands are engravable. If the engagement ring is engravable, you will have the option to add the engraving on the product page or in the shopping cart. There may be a small fee for this service.
