Take A Look Inside The Lab

Lab-grown colored diamonds are all the rage, but how are they made?

You know we’re huge fans of lab-grown diamonds! There’s no surprise there. And, not to sound like a broken record, but they’re sparkly, more affordable…and just…better. At least in our opinion!

Well, good news! If you’ve been eyeing the colored-diamond trend and have suffered from serious sticker shock, you’re in store for a colorful treat! You can now get the same lab-grown quality gems as colored diamonds too!

But first, let’s talk about how colored diamonds are made. Look at these pretty yellow flower ring and yellow eternity band!

Colored Diamonds Au Naturel

In nature, colored diamonds are formed when various minerals get mixed in while the rocks are being crystallized. And as you’d expect, different minerals can cause different colors!

Sometimes, a combo just creates a murky hue to an otherwise clear diamond, making it less than perfect. Other times, though, the entire stone will be tinted!

These diamonds can range from yellow to blue, and everything in between! However, since getting the combination just right can be unpredictable, naturally colored gems are super rare…and expensive!

How do you remedy that? Replicate the process in a lab, obviously!

The Rainbow Lab

When it comes to lab-grown, you don’t have to leave a gem’s color up to chance!

The scientists who work their magic to create your diamonds are able to add special gas mixtures and treatments to the crystal-growing process which in turn changes the stone’s hue.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3! Ok, maybe it’s a little more complicated than that. But it’s still a whole lot simpler than nature makes it out to be!

You get a diamond that’s vivacious and just the shade you wanted without leaving color up to the whims of sometimes fickle Mother Nature. These blue sterling silver earrings are just as dazzling as the moon!

Like Magic!

Since naturally colored diamonds are incredibly hard to find, cut your wallet and the earth a little slack. Lab-grown colored diamonds are better for your bank account and better for the environment!
