The ancient city of Pella, birthplace of Alexander the Great, is renowned for its stunning mosaics. These intricate works of art, created by skilled craftsmen over two thousand years ago, depict scenes from daily life, mythology, and religion, and are a testament to the artistry and creativity of the ancient Macedonian civilization. The mosaics are composed of tiny tiles, or tesserae, painstakingly arranged to create vivid images and patterns. Each tessera is carefully selected for its color and texture, and the artistry lies in the skillful manipulation of these pieces to create a cohesive whole. These skillful hands and creative ambitions are what inspired me to create the Pella Bracelet. Featuring an array of round, oval, and marquise diamonds, placed with the precision of the tesserae of those ancient mosaics, the Pella Bracelet was designed to capture the spirit of these artistic relics and remind us of the enduring human urge to create beauty and meaning in all its forms.
